dc.descriptionCurrently, the growing concern for resource depletion and the need to reduce environmental impact has driven the search for new sustainable materials in construction. This interest arises in response to the threats of climate change and the adverse effects associated with the indiscriminate use of natural resources in both urban and rural environments. In this context, the initiative to develop a ceiling made of plaster and coconut fiber aims to enhance the insulating and sustainable properties of construction materials. The main goal of this project is to contribute to the reduction of energy consumption in buildings by promoting more environmentally friendly construction practices. The results of material characterization indicate positive performance in mechanical tests and thermal transmittance. These results suggest that the resulting material not only acts as an effective insulator but also exhibits good mechanical properties. In summary, the creation of this plaster and coconut fiber ceiling aligns with the current need to develop more sustainable construction solutions, standing out for its insulating capability and favorable mechanical properties.es_ES
